Nikou Mohajerani has always been committed to being a socially responsible individual
and as such has made it a priority to build philanthropy into her daily routine
as well as into her business. On the personal side, Nikou has been involved in
several non-profit endeavors through the years by volunteering her time and
making personal donations.
Nikou
volunteers with at risk youth as a mentor through high schools and community
centers in her community. By advocating for them, setting a good example, and
encouraging them to reach for excellence and stability, Nikou has changed the lives
of many young people. This is one of the organizations closest to her heart
because she believes in the potential of our younger generations. They will be
the advocates of diversity, equality, and environmental awareness.
Nikou
is also an active volunteer in a local convalescent home. She visits the
residents, spends time hearing their stories, and supports them by being a
reliable friend.
Perhaps
the most important cause to Nikou is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She
explained why this particular charitable cause is so close to her heart, “My
father died of lymphoma and so I know firsthand the pain this kind of disease
can cause people. A lot of other families have experienced the same loss. I
want to save people that heartache and stress by giving back to the research
for a cure.”
Her
passion for this cause extends beyond her personal life. Nikou Mohajerani
encourages her team at The Vantage Co to get involved as well, and has arranged
for the group to raise funds to support cancer research. On one occasion, the
team sold pink socks at a popular theme park to raise funds for cancer
research. At a second event in Miami, her team raised $5,000 to support the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by selling beaded necklaces with the logos and
colors of the home team at a football game.
